FAQ:

What should I bring with me?

Two water bottles and two towels (one to sit on and one to dry yourself with).

Come 'beach ready' if possible as changing facilities are limited. Rember nudity is not permitted in our saunas, you must wear a suitable swimming costume.

What time should I arrive?

Sessions start on the hour, and last for 55 minutes. Arrive 10 minutes before your session is due to start so you can change and, your Sauna Host can book you in.

Who can use the Sauna?

We welcome everyone over the age of 16.

COLD PLUNGE protocol?

The health benefits of cold plunges are well known; however, it's not an endurance challenge! A few minutes for adults will induce the body's shock response and produce the reaction we're looking for.
Our tips are to take it slowly and breathe deeply. You MUST let your body cool down properly after leaving the sauna and before entering the cold water. Always listen to your body and do what feels right for you.

Toilet Facilities

Please use the toilets in the campsite, rather than those in the Club House. Please speak to your Sauna Host for access.

Waiver and Terms of Use (Sauna & Cold Plunge).
IF SOMEONE ELSE BOOKED ON YOUR BEHALF PLEASE READ AND COMPLETE THE BELOW.
If the terms agreed to are breached, Black Box Sauna reserves the right to terminate your use of the facilities immediately, at their discretion.

By using our facilities, you agree to adhere to the following rules and guidelines:

1. Alcohol and nudity are strictly prohibited in the sauna. The Black Box Sauna operators reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated individuals.

2. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the sauna.

3. Participants are strongly advised to remove any hanging jewellery before entering the sauna to prevent any risk of burns.

4. It is strongly advised to remove glasses or contact lenses before entering the sauna to avoid damage to coatings and prevent contact lenses from drying out.

5. All individuals using the sauna do so at their own risk. If you have any reservations about sauna use, prior consultation with a GP is essential.

6. Do not use the sauna or cold plunge (if available) if you:

   - Suffer from high or low blood pressure, any heart or circulatory disorder, epilepsy, or diabetes

   - Are pregnant

   - Are prone to dizziness or fainting

   - Are taking blood thinning medications

   - Have a swollen joint injury.

7. We strongly advise customers to hydrate before, during, and after your sauna sessions. It will make for a much more enjoyable and healthy experience.

8. Prolonged exposure to the sauna may cause your body to overheat. We recommend limiting yourself to a maximum of 20 minute blocks in the sauna. Everyone is different, and we recommend you listen to your body.  Overexposure to high temperatures and humidity can be dangerous to your health. Exit the sauna immediately if you begin to feel nauseous, uncomfortable, dizzy, or sleepy and contact a member of our staff.  Similarly, exposure to cold water can also stress the body and you should limit your time in the cold plunge to only a few minutes.

9. Compliance with sauna etiquette is mandatory at all times. This includes:

   - Washing feet in the bucket provided before entering the sauna

   - Sitting on a towel at all times

   - Gently pouring water onto the sauna stove; drizzle, don't dump water

   - Only pouring the provided 'sauna water' on hot rocks and nothing else!

We try to be vigilant on our sites and take care of our customers; however, it is the customer's full responsibility to ensure the safeguarding of all personal possessions while on site.

12. Phones or electronics don’t like heat. If you choose to use any electronics or technology during your sauna sessions, do so at your own risk.  Do not take photos of other guests without their consent.

13.  I understand that the staff at Black Box Sauna are not a replacement for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment. The staff at Black Box Sauna are not diagnosing, prescribing, or treating any physical or mental illness. Nothing said during the session should be interpreted as such.

14. The Black Box Sauna operators reserve the right to refuse entry, cut short, or cancel sessions for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk, concerns about risky behaviour, or if any of the above rules are not followed. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.

I acknowledge this waiver of liability form and fully understand its terms and conditions.
I am waiving and giving up my right to sue Black Box Sauna and any affiliated parties. I acknowledge that I am voluntarily and intend by my signature for this to be a complete and unconditional release of liability to the greatest extent allowable by law.
